To create the reality you want as a whole, you have to heal the person as a whole.

You must be an active participant in your healing. We’ve been told so many times to simply give our problems to a higher power, but your higher power can’t assist a non-existent participant.

If you want a different future, you can not remain a victim of the past. Holding on to old energy only invites more of that energy, and what people don’t realize is that there is a lag time with the manifestation of change in your reality. People think well, “I was happy and positive all day long or all week, my life should immediately be better.” It does not work that way. You’ve been locked into old energy patterns for years, maybe a whole lifetime. There are many intricate internal pieces that need to be shifted first for your external reality to change.

This is where changing your life or manifesting your reality, whatever you prefer to call it, is not at all a passive journey. God or your higher self can not impart wisdom and change on an unwilling person. This is oftentimes where people give up when they realize that a better life isn’t just given to you on a whim. It requires a willful exchange of old patterns for new. It requires effort, learning, and rewiring of emotions and patterns.

To create the reality you want as a whole, you have to heal the person as a whole. There are many different parts of ourselves that contribute to the reality we experience, from our mental and emotional states to our physical state.

The good news is we don’t have to change everything all at once, and simply starting anywhere helps to set the rest in motion. Although I am a fan of attacking the hard parts first. I’m aware that that does not work for everyone. And for me, sometimes does not work either. So it’s best to start with something you know you can do, a small challenge to shift your mindset to one of worthiness and accomplishment.

It helps to think of the kind of person you hope to be, the person you envision as loving, healthy , and successful. Start by creating small steps to help bring that person to reality.
Maybe it’s as small as the way you make your morning coffee with one less scoop of sugar, maybe it’s choosing to make phone calls first thing in the morning that you would typically put off all day, maybe it’s to workout or meditate for 5 minutes, listen to educational podcasts instead of music on your ride to work. Whatever it is, these small steps are telling you and your higher self that you are looking to make a positive change and are opening the door to a new and better reality.

You can not give up when you do not see immediate results. As the metaphor goes, you would not plant a seed and dig it up 2 days later, upset that it’s not growing. You plant seeds of change, and you tend to them mindfully and even better lovingly. Eventually, and in the right time, you will begin to see a plant emerge, and just like real plants, they all grow in their own time. Many times, with the roots starting a strong system before you ever even see any green. Don’t give up. As I said, a change in reality takes time, but you must first take the steps for that change.
